Strait Knot Productions
providing production opportunities in the arts

Strait Knot Productions is the product of Dr. Ronni Sanlo and Dr. Kelly Watson. Kelly was the co-founder of women’s recovery and outpatient centers in Arizona and worked with the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors to achieve mental health treatment parity in insurance coverage. Kelly earned a bachelors and a doctorate from UCLA where she also graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry. She worked in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field to ensure that women’s issues were addressed and remains active in the recovery community in both Palm Springs and Sequim, Washington. Kelly’s passion for production was ignited when she became the executive producer of the award-winning documentary Letter to Anita and the film Passionate Pursuits of Angela Bowen.

Join us in the creation of our new book
Nouns are the First Things to Go!

Kelly and Ronni are working on a book about the unexpected things that happen while aging…and there are many! A sudden desire for afternoon naps, things that go bump in your mouth, vaginal and rectal prolapses (who knew????), failing (and falling) body parts, 7:30 bedtime, farting and other noises, technology glitches. We want to know what you’ve learned about the excitement of aging…things your mother never told you. They may be humorous or sad or make you angry. You may make a bullet points list or write a full-on essay. Either way, your contribution of words, with your permission, of course, will be acknowledged. Please send your thoughts and stories to us at We look forward to reading about your experiences. The book - to be entitled Nouns are the First Things to Go - will be published through Strait Knot Productions.
Deadline: April 1, 2023. Do it! Write ON!
